Bright Calm City That road sign said you rock, I tend to agree.

Our urban environments can be quite out of balance with messages that involve the words ‘STOP’,‘DON’T’,‘SLOW’,‘DANGER’, ‘NO’, ‘PROHIBITED’, ‘CLOSED’.  Wouldn’t it be great if more people got given more compliments for doing something right or for just existing?  Bright Calm City’s signs will be much more complimentary, dishing out compliments to passersby and drivers for being so great and safe around a major event. 

Karen Maurice – O’Leary

Bright Calm City is a brand spanking new emerging artist, with an ethos of getting positive emotions into public spaces. She (Karen Maurice-O'Leary) comes with a very colourful background in commercial art direction and installations, winning awards around the globe in the U.K, Cannes and the U.S for large creative public stunts. Her passion to create ongoing structures that encourage people to interact or adsorb positive messages in entirely new way has spurred her on to do just that. Bright Calm City debuts her first of many creations to come at Art in the Dark 2013.
