Learn more about Rebecca Klee

Rebecca Klee takes the quiz! Her collaborative work with Dr Siouxsie Wiles bridges the gap between art and science - read more about it here.

1. How are you involved with Art in the Dark this year?

I'm working with scientist, Siouxsie Wiles, on an installation using bioluminescent bacteria.

2. What do you do with the rest of your time?

Run, dance, create, eat. Improving Auckland Council's digital experience keeps me busy during the day.

3. Any hidden talents?

I make a mean taco.

4. Describe your favourite light experience

Swimming amongst phosphorescence in a river just out of Noosa, Australia, while a lightening storm passed overhead. I think this experience spurred my love of bioluminescence!

5. If Dr Seuss finished the sentence below it would read...

'Art in the Dark is at Western Park, it’s a spectacular thing to see.

Come on down, wander ‘round and let your mind roam free.

There’ll be music and light and clever illusions, beautiful creatures and fantastical sights.

Be sure to explore the incredible creations, and don’t miss the bugs that create their own light!'
